I’m a transplant from Pennsylvania – by way of New Mexico, Idaho, Utah, Nebraska and Wyoming – having moved to Wisconsin 20 years ago. I was active in my home church as a child and teen, but as an adult, in too many small towns, I was among the “unchurched” when I couldn’t find a compatible church or else didn’t look very hard.
I started out as a music teacher – bands, choirs and general music. After my son Jared (29, Green Bay) was born I was mostly part-time or a substitute teacher, which I continued through Kellyn’s childhood (20, at Lawrence University). BUT, I had this amazing moment when God answered a long-prayed question, “What am I supposed to do when I grow up?” by nudging me into pastoral ministry. Don’t mistake me, I was well past 40 when I got the answer, but I was so glad finally to know that I didn’t argue very much.
I earned my Masters of Divinity from United Theological Seminary in the Twin Cities while I was serving three very small churches in the northwest of Wisconsin. I’m passionate about justice, good music, and God’s good creation.
And, I am thrilled to be serving as the Pastor of Discipleship at A1.
If I don’t know you yet, make a point of introducing yourself – a few times, please ;-)
