Genesis Choir Director

Kyle Schleife

Kyle Schleife, tenor, pursuing a bachelor of music degree in music education (choral/general) with a minor in vocal pedagogy & science from Lawrence Conservatory. He has studied classical and musical theater voice with Teresa Seidl and currently is in the studio of Joanne Bozeman. Opera director, Copeland Woodruff, has been a mentor for stage management and assistant directing on opera theater productions that include LU Fall Opera Scenes (2015), LU Spring Opera Scenes (2016), Red River Lyric Opera Company: Floyd’s Susannah (2016), Straight from the Hip: Improvised Micro Operas (2016), LU Spring Opera Scenes (2017). Onstage credits at Lawrence include Wat Dreary, Britten’s Beggar’s Opera (2016); Expressions of Acceptance: Improvised Micro Operas (2016). Schleife has held a seat on the Lawrence chapter of National Association for Music Education board (2015-2017), he currently holds a seat on the American Choral Directors Association board at Lawrence (2016-2017), and is Lawrence Concert Choir’s co-social chair (2016-2017).

Genesis choir is the first experience taking on his own conducting ensemble. He is thrilled to be part of the team at First United Methodist Church.
